PANELISTS
Gary Rieschel is the Founding Managing Partner of Qiming Venture Partners, a firm he launched in Shanghai in 2006. Qiming invests in technology and healthcare with offices in China and the U.S. Gary has more than 35 years of successful operating and investing experience as a senior executive, entrepreneur, investor, and global business strategist. He has held executive positions at Intel, Sequent Computer, Cisco Systems, and Softbank Corporation. He serves as chair, Asia Society Northern California.
Wei Jiang is Founding Managing Partner at CatchLight Capital Partners, which he launched in Silicon Valley in 2020. CatchLight is a venture fund focused on cross-border investment opportunities in tech startups. Wei has built successful startups in both Silicon Valley and China. He has held senior executive positions at leading technology companies such as Google, eBay, Intuit, and GE.
Paul Triolo has recently joined Albright Stonebrige Group as Senior VP, for China technology and policy lead. Previously, he was practice head, global technology policy at the Eurasia Group in Washington, DC. He is a long-time observer of China’s science and technology rise and emergence as a cyber power. Paul also serves as a tech adviser to the Paulson Institute and as a China Digital Economy Fellow at New America. Previously, Paul served in senior research positions within the US government for more than 25 years.
Ker Gibbs most recently was executive director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, where he focused on US-China relations and business issues facing U.S. companies operating in Asia. His career in high tech in Shanghai and San Francisco led him to banking, where he became head of technology and media in greater China for HSBC. As an investment banker, he advised at the board and C-level at Alibaba, Baidu, and other firms engaged in mergers and cross-border transactions.
