The answer is mixed, depending on whether you view Hong Kong as just a local market or a gateway to the global market.
If young local entrepreneurs can keep in mind how they plan to scale up their business when they begin their start-ups and consider Hong Kong as a platform rather than the only market they care about, the question posed at the beginning should be an easy one to answer.
