Trend-spotting in LATAM’s Silicon Valley
I engaged in more trend-spotting of tech hubs – this time in Monterrey, MX, where I was a keynote speaker at IncMTY Summit, November 13-14, held on two campuses – UANL and Tec de Monterrey.
My keynote from a global perspective underscored quick shifts in tech sectors and regions, and highlighted how Mexico could rise up with a new tech economy, much like China and India have.
You ask, why MTY? It’s a large city in northern Mexico that is booming due in part to reshoring, mainly from China.
Plus, Latin America’s young, fast-growing population, expanding middle class, rapid technology penetration and adoption rates
are reshaping industries and creating new market opportunities, to quote VC Rogelio de los Santos of Dalus Capital.
Throughout my visit, I engaged with community leaders including UANL Professor Nasser Mohamed in this expanding hub. Universities are always a key stimulus for tech innovation.
